Mercury 223
Technological modem “Mercury 223” (further TM) is used for network addresses programming of subscriber devices (energy meters with built-in PLC-modems series “Mercury ”), intended for application as a part of automated data registration on power line "Mercury -PLC". For communication with outer world ÒÌ has two interfaces: technological PLC interface, used in meters programming process (on housing upper case socket) and computer USN 1.1. TM circuit diagram is given below. Together with TM the program “TMcomm.exe” is used, the description of program is here. >>>. |

| During connection of TM to PC, virtual COM-port appears as PC device, through which programming process is further controlled by application software.
For data exchange TM uses so called “technological” communication mode with subscriber device. In this mode data is transmitted to both directions with “fast” (100 bit/s) relative phase manipulation with frequency 20Hz and lowered in 10 times signal levels. Controlling packets format is described in document Sub_devs_interface.zip (Subscriber devices interface).
Attention! Socket on TM upper case is intended only for connection and programming “Mercury ” series meters. Usage with other purposes may cause breaking of device!

Alternative 1.
Ground wire not disconnected.
If ground wire is not disconnected from meter, muddling up phase and 0 wires from T-modem may cause short circuit with leaking of strong current through T-modem throttle |
Alternative 2.
Load not disconnected.
Connection of technological modem with not disconnected load may cause throttles burning out of T-modem during power supply on the meter because any device connected to socket can be left in apartments and its switching on will cause strong current leakage through T-modem throttles. |
